| The movie version of HOOT hit U.S. theaters May 5, and was released on DVD in August. It was filmed in Boca Grande and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was produced by Jimmy Buffett and Frank Marshall (who produced Seabiscuit). Wil Shriner directed the film. Luke Wilson played Officer Delinko, and Logan Lerman and Brie Larson played Roy and Beatrice. Clark Gregg (of "In Good Company"), Tim Blake Nelson (of "O Brother Where Art Thou") and Robert Wagner (of the Austin Powers movies, among many others) had roles in the movie.
